The New Skoda Fabia.

The Skoda fabia is just about to be launched, and there is a lot of back / front end preparation going around for the same. This car, India has been waiting for the last 4 years. 4 years of teasing and finally the Fabia is here. What will the Indian car community think about it ? what will the India car customers think about it ?

well let me start by saying (since i have sat in one and droven one around) the feel of the car is totally different. No B+ or for that matter C+ car gives that feel of quality / safety / sturdyness / finish. I Mean this car is totally different from the 'sheets of metals' we used to buy as 'cars'. This one has been made with love, with thoughtfullness and in the end like all skodas. . .BUILT LIKE A TANK.

you get that similar sound when you close the door. . the same sound that the octavia and the laura and the superb made. . that loud but assuring 'thud'. which means there has not been any compromise on the quality. On the outside the car is a 'beauty statement' i can see right now many models / fashion industry people / advertising people / musicions driving this car. this car has something that other indian cars have never had (barring a few) that is 'personality'.

one would like to be seen in this car. again getting back to its exteriors. . . its beautifully made has large headlamps. has the new skoda design philosophy (moving away from its 'made in russia byt the russian govt' look).

Once on the interior. the car is expectedly large (its very big from the outside). There is a good headroom, leg room and feels very spacious. And with the sun roof (YES. . there is a sun roof) it looks even more spacious. The rear leg room is ahem . . .more than the octavia . . i feel .:) which is good as the octi has NO leg room :). now coming to the interesting part of the toys . . this one will make u feel special with all the toys. . its got abs / msr / air bags / on board computur / the SUPERB like key. (THIS IS MY PERSONAL FAVOURAITE) steering wheel that moves up and down. . . HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE SEAT MAN . . . height adjustable SEAT BELTS. Front and rear reading lamps. Now BEAT THIS ONE. . . a climate controlled dual illuminate GLOVE comparment. ...also not to forget a CD player with 4 speakers and REAR PARKTRONIC. all this totaly different from the standar climate controlled ac, power windows, and power mirors.

this car is really made to be leaps and bounds ahead of others.

Then there comes the handling. these guys have cracked it. The hanlding is lovely. in the corners. . the car begs to be pushed harder, maybe becase of its anti roll bar kit in the suspension and it surprisingly glides over all d bumps. Even though the cylinder is a 3 pot, the acceleration when the revlimiter goes above 3 K is really really pleasing. I Cant call it hair raising speed but i can tell u its quick.


so here goes. . the fabia is going to be launched during the auto expo.

so am waiting. really really waiting.
